He won the prestigious Best Director award at this year's Cannes International Film Festival, for Kinatay, a film about a kidnap-rape victim, who is brutally chopped to pieces. Mendoza beat the likes of quirkily gory director Quentin Tarantino (Inglorious Basterds) and story teller extraordinaire Ang Lee (Taking Woodstock). In tonight's episode, Mendoza talks about his victory and sheds light on the issues regarding his controversial film.
