I have my team, but how do I actually go about “managing” it?
As team manager you get to decide which player will starts or which player will be placed in your team’s active roster spots. Players on your bench do not add their stats towards calculating your team’s totals.

In the Head to Head format, league roster change formats can be set by its commissioner (usually the person who created the league). They can either be set on a daily or a weekly basis. This daily setting is preferred by fantasy team owners, who like to micro-manage their teams. The weekly setting is much less time consuming as you set who will play for the entire week, normally on the Sunday before the week begins.

Like real NBA team owners and managers you can trade players with other teams. Some leagues might have a “trade approval” or “trade protest” system that helps prevent trades that unbalanced or “unfair”. After the draft has been concluded, NBA players who weren’t drafted are placed in a pool of “free agents” and can be picked up by managers, but a player has to be dropped from his or her roster in the process. This is normally done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Now that you are armed with the basics of fantasy basketball, the most important thing you have to remember is to have fun. Draft the players you like. Play with your friends and enjoy hours of conversation or “trash talking” about the game.
