What to do: When you feel that she is coming, sprinkle salt, spices, and vinegar out the window and call out “Salt, vinegar, and spices!” (“Asin, suka, at paminta!”)

WITCHES
Witches are a vengeful lot. They will kill, make another sick, all in the name of revenge. What sets witches apart from the haunted lot is their abstention from eating human flesh.

Mambabarang (Bicol), a.k.a Barangan (East Visayas)
Has uncanny similarities with the well-known mangkukulam. She likes them insects, keeping them in a bamboo tube, and training them to avenge herself.
What to do: See a witch doctor to have yourself whipped. Yes, it is a little kinky, but it is effective. It will make the mambabarang suffer. If you survive the attack, you will become a mambabarang as well. Battling with these creatures may have its advantages after all.
