7th Australian Film Festival
This week, it’s Australia’s turn to hold their film fest. Catch the 7th Australian Film Festival this weekend at Greenbelt 3, Cinema 3 in Makati. Among the films that will be shown are films The Black Balloon, Unfinished Sky, The Hard Word, Garage Days, Danny Deckchair and The Bank. Tickets are just P65 each, so you have no reason to miss all these cool films from the land down under.

Night Out, Help Out
It has been more than a month now since a pair of fateful storms blew our way and flooded the lands, but many people still need your help. On Saturday, November 7, another benefit gig happens at Il Ponticello in Salcedo Village, Makati. Featuring performances from an awesome bunch of bands including Lady-I, Milagros Dancehall Collective, Nicole and Carlo, Sexy Beast, Techy Romantics, and Tribo Manila, the 100-peso entrance fee will surely be worth it—especially considering that every centavo will go to the Red Cross for relief operations.

Level Up! Live 2009
If you’re an avid online gamer, and know your way around online worlds—especially those of Level Up!’s—then we’re sure you’ve heard of this one. Level Up! Live 2009 happens at the World Trade Center from November 7 to November 8. Last year, the event attracted over 20,000 people, and we’re sure this year it’s going to be just as big.

Eight nationwide tournaments for a variety of games is definitely the headliner, while cosplay, filmmaking, photography and art competitions show that not only gamers are invited, but artists as well. Level Up! will also be unveiling their newest first-person shooter game at the event, so that’s definitely worth a look for those who closely monitor the online gaming landscape. Astrojuan, Gorgoro, I-ray and Kamikazee will also be performing. For more details, check out levelupgames.ph

More Than a Game
People don’t usually watch a lot of documentaries, but if Lebron James is the subject, that assumption may just change. More Than a Game, a documentary film, is definitely a must-watch for basketball fans (come on, we know you’re out there somewhere).

The film chronicles Lebron James’ journey from high school star to a full-fledged international basketball icon. Along with him for the ride are four of his closest teammates, who stood by the king as they faced the trials and tribulations in their lives, not just in the court, but off the court as well. More Than a Game opened last November 4, and is now showing at SM Megamall Cinema 2.
