10 of the Prettiest Politicians!

It’s been a few weeks since the 2010 elections and the buzz is winding down. Several districts, however, still have reasons to rejoice, considering not only do they have more public servants at their beck and call, but that these women can inspire with their looks as well.

Sure, our country has had its fair share of good-looking men in Philippine politics, let alone several of them lookers being under Gloria’s government. Observing our lineup of public servants, though, it's clear that the number of women in politics has taken a significant rise—not to mention fine-looking women at that.

We’re not suggesting that face value alone makes the difference between a good and bad politician, but it's enough reason to compel us to watch the news even more.

Here are ten pretty politicians that are at the very least, easy on every voting citizen’s eyes.

Shalani Soledad
A name most of us have heard just recently, Shalani only became recognizable when revealed as president-elect Noynoy Aquino’s girlfriend. That title, however, is just the tip of the iceberg: She is also a councilor in Valenzuela city, and has been gaining props for being a Marian Rivera and Cristine Reyes look-alike. We’d like to believe that Shalani has been an effective tool in promoting Noynoy’s campaign, as her good girl charms has already done us lots of service. We believe in you and your beauty, Shalani.

Lucy Torres-Gomez
Yes we know she’s a celebrity, and putting her in this list barely after being elected is cheating a little bit. But hey, as far as we’re concerned, she’s a congresswoman in Leyte now. Originally a TV host, dancer, and wife of matinee idol Richard Gomez, we can now look forward to airing our grievances to Congresswoman Torres in person. Her silky white skin and angelic face is a nice cool change from male politicians. Heck, it’s a nice cool change from male celebrities-turned politicians. A goddess for a congresswoman: lucky Leyte.

Joy Belmonte
Recently elected as vice mayor of Quezon City, Joy Belmonte looks to continue her father’s work in terms of public service. Her stint as an educator and a performing artist only adds to her already evident credibility. Her undeniable beauty, however, is merely a bonus. Judging from Joy’s appearance alone, one would assume that this woman just got out of college. Even running mate Herbert Bautista has found a match as the city’s most baby-faced politician.
