BAKIT 2
Mayonnaise
Album: Mayonnaise (2004)
Director: Marie Jamora
The band-on-a-truck bit was an idea they got from film festival floats, we guess. But it worked well for Mayonnaise, who never fail to incorporate humor in their melancholic numbers.
INDEPENDENCE DAY
Barbie’s Cradle
Album: Playing in the Fields (2003)
Director: Treb Mortreras II
Aside from being Barbie’s Cradle’s last music video together, it’s World War II-inspired images and a camouflage-garbed Barbie belting her heart out, makes this vid a keeper worthy of being listed.
DALIRI
Kjwan
Album: Kjwan (2004)
Director: Marie Jamora
The first thing you’ll notice in this video is how striking the sunset looks as the band plays in what appears to be a graveyard for ships. The sentiment was “kaya naman pala natin gumawa nang ganyan!” Which is what it was really. Kjwan and director Jamora obviously wracked their brains to come up with killer visuals on this one, and it just goes to show that if you have a clear vision of what you want your music video to be, and you can stick to the concept, there are less chances for it to become incoherent trash.
