DOLL’S HEAD
The Late Isabel
Album: Doll’s Head (2004)
Director: Genghis Jimenez
Made the cut not because it’s our über-dark (no pun intended) managing ed’s band, but because this “video-noir” made our heads bob like wornout dolls. MTV Best Indie Video awardee, anyone?
Ang Huling El Bimbo
Eraserhead
Album: Cutterpillow (1995)
Director: Aureaus Solito
The video that set a now-vibrant scene in motion, “Ang Huling El Bimbo” just set the basic ground rules for everyone in terms of style and substance.
JULIE TEARJERKY
Eraserhead
Album: Aloha Milkyway (2004)
Director: Matthew Rosen
The Eheads at that crucial point when they were formidable and waning at the same time. This wistful video almost said everything was alright.
DULO NG DILA
Pupil
Album: Beautiful Machine (2005)
Director: Wincy Ong & King Palisoc
Stylish. In a very Anglophilic sense. You would have thought Pupil had tranformed into the Kaiser Chiefs on this one but there’s no mistaking the visual appeal it had for those in the know.
