At the Philippine International Motor Show 2014 held over the weekend, the world's top automotive brands gathered to showcase their flashiest jalopniks to car-hungry Pinoys. FHM was one of them.

We didn't get to focus solely on the cars, admittedly, because we were sidetracked by all the pretty ladies such as them:

So, to make up for our completely understandable misgivings, we now would like to—as much as it pains us to do so—turn away our attention from the girls, and towards the supposedly real stars of the show.

Here are 10 of the newest rides that caught our attention at PIMS 2014!

1)   Volkswagen Touareg

Nothing says "family man" like a brawny SUV. But nothing says "filthy rich family man" like this sophisticated carriage from Volkswagen. The mid-size luxury SUV retails for around P4.2 million, and is powered by a 3-liter v6 engine with an eight-speed transmission.

A dream ride for: The soccer dad with panache

2)   The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Holy smokes. For anyone who wants to declare his arrival as a made-man, the recently launched fourth-generation C-Class is the ride for you. It's not for everyone (P3.8 million might be a problem!) but for the lucky few that can afford a sedan with such sexiness, we bow to you.

A dream ride for: Those who have been riding Asian-made sedans all their life and would like to try out what the other side of the world offers. Gesundheit! (We don't know what that means, but it sounds German enough!)

3)   Isuzu MU-X

Say goodbye to the Isuzu Alterra, and hello to its spiritual successor, the equally attention-grabbing Isuzu MU-X. Not only does it have a fancy name, it also has a fancy 2.5 liter turbo-diesel engine that pumps out 134 horses and a Terrain Command dial for those that want to take it for a real spin in the outdoors. Its price range? From P1.1 to 1.7 million.

A dream ride for: Anyone looking for a macho SUV that isn't as ubiquitous as a Toyota Fortuner
