When we talk about super moves in anime, we usually think about Goku’s Kamehameha or Naruto’s wind-based Rasengan jutsu.

These techniques are indeed cool and iconic, but more often than not, they’re not as powerful as we want them to be, especially when these are compared to catastrophic moves packed with enough destructive force to level a city and are also designed to demoralize the enemy.

To prove our point, here is a list of some of the most devastating anime attacks that will easily overpower any opponent.

1) Senbonzakura Kageyoshi (Bleach)

As the Captain of Soul Society’s Sixth Division, Kuchiki Byakuya’s magnificent skills are indubitable.

The usually silent Byakuya’s sword release attack, more popularly known as Bankai, is called the Senbonzakura Kageyoshi (Vibrant Scape of a Thousand Cherry Blossoms), where he mercilessly launches countless blades fashioned as Sakura petals towards his foes.

2) Spirit Gun (Yuyu Hakusho)

It’s a simple skill where the user’s energy is condensed at the fingertip then released into a ray of light. Under Yusuke Urameshi's hand, this fairly basic attack was honed into a deadly signature move.

Yusuke uses his Spirit gun a lot, but one iconic moment in anime history is when it was amplified while he was possessed by his dad, Raizen in Mazoku mode, when he fought and manhandled Sensui.

3) Guanyin Bodhisattva Ninety-ninth hand (Hunter X Hunter)

At over 120 years of age, Hunter Association Chairman Isaac Netero can kick anyone’s ass. He just doesn’t because his Nen skills are superior compared to others. Well, that’s until the Chimera Ant King Meruem showed up.

Meruem pushed Netero to use his Guanyin Bodhisattva technique, a Nen skill that emulates Buddha’s thousand arms.

4) Tengai Shinsei (Naruto)

We all know that Uchiha Madara is the boogeyman when it comes to the Naruto ninja world, but he elevated his own legend to godlike status when he summoned meteorites to smash the helpless Great Ninja Alliance with his Tengai Shinsei jutsu.

5) Seaquake (One Piece)

Yonko Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard, is often called the strongest man in the world of One Piece and rightfully so. The legendary pirate, despite his age and deteriorating condition, is literally a one-man army with his Gura Gura no Mi devil fruit powers, which give him the ability to create tremors.

6) Planet destroyer (Dragon Ball)

In a world where a handful of characters can take out planets without breaking a sweat, the ruthless Frieza’s planet destroyer stands out because of the sheer malice that comes behind the act of leveling a celestial body.
