The merry month of May is about to end. To ready you for the coming days (as you grab the FHM Roxanne Barcelo-fronted issue), a checklist of the most-anticipated blockbusters this June is necessary.
From a pair of explosive adventure flicks, to your typical Pinoy love story (which the girfriend will love), there's something for everyone. Set that date night as early as today!
Wonder Woman (June 1)
Gal Gadot is set to bring back movie glory of DC Comics with this standalone saga about the poster girl for women empowerment. It tells the origins of the Amazon warrior, and her crusade alongside Allied forces during World War I.
The Mummy (June 7)
Tom Cruise clashes with an evil ancient undead princess (played by Sofia Boutella), who wreaks havoc on humanity after being unintentionally resurrected. This action-horror reboot also stars Russell Crowe, and is directed by Alex Kurtzman.
Despicable Me 3 (June 14)
Gru (Steve Carell) is faced with sibling rivalry after coming across his long-lost twin brother, Dru (also voiced by him). The antagonist for the third installment is Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a super villain and former '80s child star seeking—what else—world domination.
Can We Still Be Friends? (June 14)
Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz are back together on the big screen after the success of last year's rom-com hit, Always Be My Maybe. Can We Still Be Friends? revolves around the story of Diego (Anderson) and Sam’s (Muñoz) relationship from being lovers to exes, then peers.
Transformers: The Last Knight (June 21)
Optimus Prime is gone, while robots and humans are fighting. The only thing that can save everyone is the alliance of Bumblebee, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins), and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock). The narrative explores the legacy of the Transformers on planet Earth.
