Stars: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley
Three years later, after the 2003 hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, here rolls up one of the sequels (yes folks, it’s a trilogy). The flick starts with Will (Bloom) and Elizabeth (Knightley) finalizing skeds for the knot tying, but comes in Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) trashing in on the marital strat plan. The buccaneer brings along the smitten tandem for a wild ride. And this time, the band’s undertaking is to grab the legendary dead man’s chest which will serve as the grave-pay up to Davy Jones, captain of a ghost ship that’s crewed by the souls of the sea’s drowned mates. If Sparrow fails, he’ll be forced to surrender his soul to Jones for eternity. Amen!
- The guy who inspired Captain Sparrows’ pirate persona is no other than Rolling Stones’ strummer Keith Richards.
- In fact, Richard’s was supposed to appear in a cameo role in the movie as Sparrow’s dad—but couldn’t because of a Rolling Stones world tour.
