Today on Awesome Things on the Internet is a short film featuring every '90s kid's favorite multi-colored, dinosaur-themed, tights-wearing superheroes: the Power Rangers.
Only this time they're a hundred times more badass. There's swearing. There's an orgy. There's an entire anatomy lesson on how to stab people with pointy things. There are giant mechs, and a color palette that would make Batman proud. These are the Mighty Morphers like you've never seen them before.
If you're going to watch just one YouTube reboot today, let it be this one:
The 14-minute YouTube film is directed by American music video director, Joseph Kahn, who has directed basically everyone from Aaliyah, Shaq, Korn, Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Backstreet Boys all the way to Eminem, Blink 182, and Maroon 5. Most recently, he directed Taylor Swift's "Blank Space." Starring in this short produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd) is James Van Der Beek of Dawson's Creek fame and Katie Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica).
With our favorite rebel ranger showing up, only one question remains now: When can we get a full version?
The YouTube clip now has garnered over 2 million views since being uploaded on February 23, 2015.
