"What if there was an Empire-focused short Star Wars animation, drawn with the crazy detail and shading of classic '80s anime that's all but vanished from Japan nowadays?"

That's the question that YouTube user OtaKing77077 sought to answer when he made an incredibly sharp-looking animated short film on the popular video site. The clip, entitled "TIE Fighter," reverses common perspective and shows you what it was like to be one of the bad guys piloting those iconic TIE fighters for the evil Empire. It has laser-filled dog fights, rousing metal music that's also reminiscent of '80s anime music, and pro-level animation quality.

This is a beautiful example of things being created out of pure passion (and "4 years' worth of weekends" according to the video's description):
