The Force had to be literally awake at the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens Panel Simulcast Fan Event.

FHM joined other members of the media and fans of the highly popular space fantasy franchise at 12 a.m. (you read that right) today at the SM Mall of Asia IMAX Theatre to celebrate this year's Star Wars Convention in Anaheim, California.

But what fanatics attendees sacrificed a deal of shut-eye for was really the live simulcast of the Star Wars panel, which promised a bevy of special guests and exclusive content. And boy, they sure did not disappoint.

We round up below 10 gems of this momentous live stream!

1)   DJ Elliot's sick Star Wars mix to kick things off and pump up the crowd

Imagine this...

...with a tugs-tugs-tugs beat. Yeah, party rock.

2)   The crowd's deafening roar when Star Wars: The Force Awakens' director JJ Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy (also Lucasfilm president) entered the stage

The anticipation for the latest Star Wars installment was, just, palpable. Abrams and Kennedy readily answered host Anthony Breznican's questionsfrom how the movie has affected their lives to the approach they're taking with this new sagaand gamely acknowledged the fans' admiration. Not to mention those awesome behind-the-scenes photos they've just released...

3)   The fans-turned-droid mechanics...

R2-D2 Builder's Club members Lee Towersey and Oliver Steeples were discovered by Kennedy at the Star Wars Celebration in Europe a few years ago. What started as a compliment and a "semi-joke" according to Steeples is now a dream come true for the droid-designing duo.

4)   ...and of course, their creations (which are real props and not CGI, by the way)

A much more badass R2-D2

...and the newest member of the family, the adora-ball BB-8.

5)   The encouraging update on Harrison Ford

(You might want to take note of this photo of
Chewbacca and Han Solo, played by Ford *wink)

"He sends his best and he’s doing great and working hard," Abrams shared about Ford, who was quite banged up after crash-landing his vintage World War II plane more than a month ago. "I’ve never had more respect for a guy than to see how he landed that plane. He’s more of a hero with that move than he is in any of the movies he's been in."

Get well soon, Han!

6)   Meet the new leads

Time for some youngbloods!

7)   The new Stormtrooper uniform design!

Can you spot the difference?

8)   Nostalgia: The original Luke, Leia, C-3P0, and Chewbacca all on the same stage

The years may have put mileage on them but Anthony Daniels (C-3P0), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Peter Meyhew (Chewbacca), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) still bring back fond memories of earlier installments, especially for fanboys-and-girls who grew up with them. Just don't expect Fisher in a metal bikini any time soon...

9)   That epic parting group shot, which included the old and new cast members, Abrams and Kennedy, and R2-D2 and BB-8

Too bad we weren't allowed to take photos inside the movie house (RA 10088, anyone?) once the simulcast started. We'll just have to wait until someone with a good heart posts it.

And finally, after this...

10)   ...they give us this:

Hold back your man tears for that last scene!
