Case in point: Despite becoming highest-grossing videogame adaptation of all time—$433 million gross—this year's Warcraft movie came off as haphazardly done and had little cinematic value for moviegoers.
Looking to break the trend and give hope to future projects of the same kind is the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie, which unveiled its second trailer earlier today.
The casting of Michael Fassbender (as the protagonist Callum Lynch/Aguilar) and Marion Cotillard ensures top-notch acting from the film's lead characters. Couple that with the death-defying stunts (read: actual Leaps of Faith), breathtaking views, and hopefully a compelling storyline, and we're in for a certified big screen treat!
For now, feast your eyes on the movie's latest teaser:
Assassin's Creed hits theaters next year, January 8.
