Basketball gods, can you please give this guy a break!?

Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose, who spent most of the last three seasons on the sidelines because of a blown ACL (left knee) and a torn meniscus (right knee), is once again out of action. The culprit? Another meniscus tear, again on his right knee.

Here are some details regarding his latest setback:

With the way things are going, the chances of D-Rose ever returning to MVP form are close to none. In fact, basketball analysts are wondering whether he should call it a career. At age 26.

Boy, Rose's situation sure sounds familiar. Right, Brandon?

But let's not jump to any conclusions just yet. He can always alter his game to ensure his health, but he's going to have to give up a lot of moves from his arsenal. That being said, here are some of the things we will miss the most about D-Rose's game!

For starters, we'll miss his sky-high dunks and the scary landings that almost always come with it.

We'll miss his lunchbox throwdowns (and the many road kills they leave behind).

No other player tears more body parts than Rose, but this kid has broken his share of ankles in the past.

It usually took a defender of LeBron James's caliber to stop him from making baskets.

But we're not going to miss his un-blockable step-back jumpers, because he'll likely rely on it for the rest of his career.

We'll miss his buwakaw baskets, because unlike Monta Ellis or J.R. Smith, he actually makes most of them.

We'll miss the way he uses his killer crossover to make defenders feel really old. Andre Miller, who continues to roll with the pros at 38, credits his longevity to the fact that he never jumps during games. Something to think about?

Rose always had a hard time figuring out when to hit the brakes, so we hope he puts more focus on his defensive game now that he's slowed down.

We'll miss his calculated circus shots and mid-air leg splits, that's for sure.

Have we seen the last of Rose's signature speed and explosion? For his sake, the answer has to be yes.

But more than anything in the world, we just want our idol back. The game needs you, Derrick Rose. We don't need to see these dunks and crossovers again; we only need to see you.

Get well soon, kid!
