Are we looking at a Roger Federer-Rafael Nadal US 2009 Open title bout? Since 2005, the two have been sitting at the top of the tennis ranking, duelling against each other. But a few months back, Rafa went on a sick leave and Roger went winning. Meanwhile, British Andy Murray took over Rafa's Number 2 spot on the ranking, finally breaking the Roger-Rafa spell.

But the Spartan from Spain is back and so is his famed rivalry with Federer! Already, fans are expecting a Roger-Rafa finale as the two stand on opposide sides of the draw. But we're getting ahead of our game. Before the US Open begins on Monday, 31 August, here's the Grand Slam's finest moments.

1. Kiss sabay hug. Before Fed's record of 15 Grand Slams, Pete Sampras was king with 14. At the 2002 US Open Finals, the then 31-year-old Sampras silenced haters and doubters, proclaiming him a has-been after he had failed to win any Grand Slam event since ruling the 2000 Wimbledon. Critics blamed his hot new wife Bridgette Wilson (of Billy Madison) for his losing streak. So when he beat rival Andre Agassi at the US Open finals for a record 14th Grand Slam, his haters were left fidgeting. Upon his victory, he threw his racket and ran to his trophy wife for a well-deserved hug-and-kiss combo.
