Two more NBA stars landed in the country just a few days after Lebron James treated the MOA Arena crowd to one of the loudest practice games ever. The Houston Rockets’ James Harden and the New Orleans Pelicans’ Eric Gordon are both in town to be a part of the NBA’s 3-on-3 tournament, the NBA 3X. They won’t be joining the actual tourney, but if you are a fan of those players, you’d do well to pay a visit to MOA to see them interacting with the fans.
The NBA 3X Philippines 2013, the third of its kind, will be held from July 26 to 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, where apart from the main tourney, fans will also be able to join other basketball activities such as basketball clinics, three-point shootouts, and skills challenges. For entertainment, the Indiana Pacers cheering squad, the Pacemates, and the Memphis Grizzlies’ mascot, Grizz, will also be performing for the fans. Earlier today, we got a glimpse of the stars and figures that will be in the weekend extravaganza.
A press conference was held at Sofitel Manila, where Harden, Gordon, the Pacemates, and Grizz spent time with the media answering questions, and well, just hanging out.
Harden answered a bunch of NBA questions, but we also got to ask him about his beard. Specifically how he takes care of it. Here’s the video:
Before that Q-and-A with the Houston superstar, however, those present were treated to a short dance number from these pretty Pacemates:
Above everyone else though, it was sports caster Jinno Rufino who had the most fun as Grizz made him the object of his attention. Unfortunately, that entails having your shoe tossed away:
After that, our foreign guests had their taste of Manila weather as everyone gathered outside where an NBA-themed jeep was parked. In case you didn’t know, the jeep has always been a cultural curiosity which we almost never fail to show off whenever there are foreigners around.
