Didn't we tell you that Ateneo is favored to win the UAAP Season 77 Women's Volleyball Finals? The Lady Eagles showed us why in Game 1.

Ateneo dominated the De La Salle Lady Spikers, 25-18 25-19 25-19, moving a step closer to their school's first back-to-back title in the sport. The Lady Eagles' top gun and reigning MVP, Alyssa Valdez, provided the scoring with 25 points while her teammates brought ample support. La Salle tried to keep it close with hustle and a load of #Puso, but the gals from Katips were just too much to handle, at least in this game.

The straight sets scoresheet though doesn't exactly reflect the fireworks provided by the fourth consecutive finals duel between the two rival teams. ICYMI, we've got a nice little, photo-filled recap for you!

Scroll down to know more about Game 1 and how Ateneo won it!

It's clear that the Lady Spikers were missing the services of star player Ara Galang who was injured during their previous game against the Lady Bulldogs. Without her offense and with Ateneo's defense also rolling, the Lady Eagles maintained a three-point lead going into the final stretch of the set.
