This came nearly five years after a court in California found the Korean titan guilty of infringing on a number of iPhone and iPad patents.
The contentious legal battle between the two titans has revealed a number of interesting tech tidbits, particularly on Apple's side. Throughout the proceedings, Apple submitted photos of prototype designs for the iPhone as evidence—images that were previously kept well-hidden (we all know how secretive they are with their technology).
This might not be the end of it though. Samsung reserves the right to ask for the huge sum back if ever any court invalidates the decision in the future—but that's a discussion for another time.
For now, let's focus on the images of the aforementioned iPhone designs that were ultimately rejected by Apple, which tech site BGR has collected—an interesting "what could've been" look at the world's most popular handset.
