Lenovo has just launched a new tablet here in the Philippines that has both the looks and the hardware that will make geeks say "Aprub!" in unison. Ladies and gents, check out the Windows 8-packin' Miix 2 tablet:
Looks good, right? The Miix 2 actually comes in two flavors: an 8-inch variant with impressive innards and an 11-inch model made for serious users who like more digital heavy-lifting.
LENOVO MIIX 2 8
The 8-inch Lenovo Miix 2 8 is a slim and light tablet that can fit snuggly in your man bag. Don't let the small and curvy frame fool you though, this one has hardware powerful enough to handle all your mobile chores. We're talking about 2GB of RAM that's partnered with a quad-core Intel Atom processor. Yes, fellas, it has an Intel chip similar to what you normally find in netbooks. Puwede!
Other goodies this little bugger has include a pair of shooters (5-megapixel rear, 2-megapixel front), an 8-inch multi-touch display, and 64GB internal storage. As for connectivity, the Miix 2 8 has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and even 3G connectivity (via a built-in micro-SIM slot) to keep you in the loop.
But the best part of the deal perhaps is you'll also be having a full version of Windows 8.1 with Office. This practically makes the device a little PC that calls your sweaty palm its home.
LENOVO MIIX 2 11
The bigger half of the duo, the Miix 2 11's official specs list is still, uhm, listed as "coming soon" on the Big L's site. However, based on the tidbits we gathered in the launch event, we're pretty sure it'll be more endowed than its 8-inch bro. According to Lenovo Philippines' reps, the Miix 2 11 will arrive with a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, an 11.6-inch Full-HD touchscreen (hence, the name), and 256GB of solid-state storage.
We've been told that this bad boy will also have a microSD slot, a card reader, and a mini HDMI port. This means you can use the device as a multimedia hub that streams Full-HD content to, say, that big-ass flat screen in your sala!
The all-important question: Magkano? The Miix 8 will be available for P21,999 starting on the last week of this month. Not bad for a quad-core Intel-powered tablet with full Windows 8.1.
The more powerful Miix 2 11 will go for P47,990, although you'd have to wait a bit more as it's slated to land locally on April. Hey, at least you still have time to save up!
