And, as with other superphones, Sammy's latest quad-core flagship made us ask the million-dollar question even if we're not sure if we could afford it: Magkano naman 'yan?
Good news, fellas! Globe has announced via tech blog Yugatech its postpaid pricing for the Galaxy S5! Because having choices is a must for budget-strapped geeks, the device will be available under different postpaid packages.
Take a look below:
- MySuperPlan 999: P16,800 cash-out on top of the monthly subscription fee
- MySuperPlan 1299: P12,000 cash-out on top of the monthly subscription fee
- MySuperPlan 1799: P7,200 cash-out on top of the monthly subscription fee
- MySuperPlan 2499: FREE
- MySuperPlan 3799: FREE
These postpaid plans also come with Globe's Peso Value system. Basically, each plan has a corresponding PV which you can use to customize the number or amount of calls, texts, and even mobile data you can use a month. The more expensive the plan, the higher the PV you'll get. For example, MySuperPlan 1799 gives you a PV of 1,100 while MySuperPlan 999 nets you a PV of just 600.
And, just so you know, the Galaxy S5 will be available via Globe starting April 11!
We know the next question you'll ask: Magkano naman kapag prepaid? For those who don't want to be burdened by a monthly payment, Globe's Galaxy S5 no-strings-attached price is P34,990. For those asking, that's 4K higher than the Galaxy S4's prepaid price last year, which makes us hope more that the Galaxy S5 is worth it. Hey Sammy, dontcha disappoint us now!
We've contacted Smart to ask if they already have their Galaxy S5 prices. The telco is still giving us the "TBA pa, sir!" line, although we can safely bet their prices will be very similar to their rival's. Samsung's non-telco Philippine pricing for the Galaxy S5 is also still to be revealed. Let's just cross our fingers and toes that they'll sell it at a more abot-kaya price.
