In fact, they're advanced enough to make android receptionists and for those who prefer bikes over cars, invent a totally awesome automated bike parking system that looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi flick filled with robots and shiny thingamajigs.

Called the Eco Cycle Anti-Seismic Underground Bicycle Park, it answers the problem presented by the huge amount of bikes in Japan. You see, bikes are ubiquitous in Japanese cities like Tokyo where loads of people use the Mother Nature-approved two-wheel contraption over cars. To save space and to offer a convenient way of storing and retrieving bikes, Giken Seisakusho Co., Ltd. created this unique parking facility that's a joy to watch in action. And as you can guess, it also protects bikes from the elements, pranksters, and bike thieves.
