A video of a cop getting shot in what appears to be a confidence firing session went viral over the weekend.

The 22-second clip showed a policeman in blue shirt and fatigue pants with outstretched arms at the bay area of a firing range.

At the eight-second mark, a gunshot rang out, followed by applause from the audience, presumably also policemen.

A second gunshot during the 18-second mark, however, was met with horrified reactions after the cop at the firing range fell to the ground and started shrieking in pain.

The video abruptly ended with a view of the audience, also wearing the same uniform like the cop who got shot.

According to the uploader of the video, the incident happened in Negros Occidental last May 19.

Some netizens commented that this could have been part of the confidence firing program for snipers of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF).

Confidence firing sessions are usually done as a final test of faith between two snipers who will operate as partners in future operations.

The video has been shared over 6,000 times and garnered 2,000 reactions as of this posting.
