A tricycle driver who has admitted to using drugs luckily made it out alive after he was apparently about to be killed by vigilantes.
Leonardo Ansay was found by authorities in Mabitac town in Laguna on Thursday with his whole body wrapped in a black garbage bag covered with duct tape, GMA News reported.
According to Ansay, he picked up a male passenger in Tanay town in Rizal. Upon arriving at their destination, two men suddenly forced Ansay into a vehicle and blindfolded him. He was then taken to what he described as a hideout where he was beaten up.
“Sabi ng isa, hintayin natin si boss para masentensyahan na yan. Pinapili ako kung buhay o patay, sabi ko buhay,” he said. Ansay was then taken to the area where he was found, presumably to be killed. However, the suspects left him after they saw policemen patrolling nearby.
After the ordeal, Ansay admitted being an illegal drug user but denied being a pusher. He added that he already surrendered in their locality.
Authorities are already investigating the incident.
