The relationship between the country's top leaders—President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo—may have started off on the wrong foot, but recently, it seems that all's well that ends well.

It all started when Duterte and Robredo first met personally, which also signaled the start of the country's new loveteam: a "DuBredo" pairing of sorts? And why can't they, especially with their initial dalliances resembling the usual teleserye plotlines?

Think we're only making this up? Below is a chronicle of the two newly elected public officials' first three rendezvous; tell us if this doesn't give you kilig like that of a cheesy Wattpad chapter.

Move over, AlDub, JaDine, and even DuRiam; there's a new hit tambalan in town.

Episode 1: 'Very cordial' at first sight

Like love by accident, Duterte and Robredo's eyes first met during the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Change of Command Ceremony.

"This is the first time that I meet you personally. I would have preferred to be seated beside you but nandiyan si Defense eh," Digong began his speech, with "Defense" referring to outgoing acting AFP chief (and ultimate third wheel) Glorioso Miranda. The president's concern for his second-in-command was also apparent, as he was seen offering her his favorite coco water.

Leni, in an ambush interview afterwards, described the meet-up as "very cordial." Fair enough, ensuing photos didn't lie.

Episode 2: Getting to know each other

Robredo reportedly told Duterte that she wishes to pay him a courtesy visit, to which the Chief of State obliged. In a subsequent interview, she shared that majority of their chat was about transitioning to their current posts and discovering their "many similarities" (erm...compatibility?).

Once again, "It was a very cordial meeting," Leni said. "I told him that I was just there to personally convey my message of support, that he has my full support. I was telling him that I owe it to the Filipino people to back him up."

The sight of Digong walking Leni to her car appeared to be the opposite of a typical "take her home" scene, but still, it evoked the same warm, fuzzy feeling.

Episode 3: The call

The candid man that he is, Duterte finally put to rest qualms on whether he will appoint Robredo to a Cabinet position by personally calling her and offering her to become Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council czar—right in the middle of a media address taping.

A reporter from the government-owned PTV-4 asked the president about the matter, and he in turn, responded with utter spontaneity.

The romantics that we are, we imagine the end of their conversation went along these lines:
Duterte: Maraming salamat, ma'am. Pwede niyo na pong ibaba ang telepono.
Robredo: Walang anuman, Mr. President. Mauna na ho kayong magbaba.
Duterte: Sabay na lang po tayo, ma'am. 1, 2, 3...

During the phone call, Digong also invited Leni to attend the Cabinet meeting on Monday, July 11, so expect another installment of the "DuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuBredo-serye" (say that in your best Jose Manalo as Lola Tinidora impersonation).
