It’s never too late to cap off your summer break in the Philippines, particularly the island of Palawan which boasts some of the country’s best beaches and tourist spots.

Now, visiting the gorgeous island just got a whole lot easier after the Department of Transportation announced that it will be fully opening the improved Puerto Princesa Airport starting next month.

The international airport was placed under an extensive expansion project in 2015 to improve its facilities so that it can accommodate more tourists.

With that said, here are some of the places you can add to your itinerary when you visit Palawan before summer ends:

1) Puerto Princesa Underground River

Now one of the country’s main tourist draws, this underground channel was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

2) Honda Bay

Island hopping never gets boring here with all the different things Honda Bay has to offer like snorkeling, diving and of course, eating fresh seafood at the beach!

3) Ugong Rock

If spelunking and the Palawan view from above is your thing then you have to check out Ugong Rock, a 71-meter limestone outcrop where you can also enjoy an amazing zipline experience.
