We're opening 2016 with the best of the lot. And what exactly do we mean by that? Well, for starters, we're welcoming the Year of the Fire Monkey with the reigning Sexiest Woman in the Land, Jennylyn Mercado, on the cover of our January 2016 issue!
Behold, the Philippines' Finest in her boldest photo shoot yet:
This issue marks Jennylyn's fourth cover appearance in our magazine and commemorates the eight anniversary of her FHM debut back in January 2008. Since then, a lot of things have happened to Jen. Aside from being a proud mother and a dedicated fitness advocate as a triathlete and jiu-jitsu apprentice she also holds the title as the country's Sexiest Woman.
That last one still surprises her even now: "Siyempre nagulat ako. Every year, I’m always either No. 3 or No. 5—somewhere in that range. When I found out about the results, I was on my way to New York for a shoot. Naka-T-shirt lang ako kasi I needed to wear something comfortable for the long flight," narrates the Kapuso star. "Then [at the airport] naglabasan yung media and staff ng FHM to congratulate me! Ano ba kayo? Sana nakapaghanda man lang ako! Sana nagsuot ako ng dress man lang di ba? Wala ako sa ayos! Ha ha!"
Jen has also established herself as one of the most sought after actresses of today, while nabbing Best Actress trophies one after another. The latest of her trophies came from this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, where she won the Best Actress plum for Walang Forever. The victory made her a back-to-back MMFF winner. She won the same award last year for English Only, Please.
But despite all the accolades she has received, she doesn't let her success get into her head. "Things are still the same," says Jen. "There’s just more pressure because everyone expects na perfect ako umarte lagi. Ay hindi eh! Sorry! Forever pa rin akong nag-aaral when it comes to my craft."
Talented, humble, and a knockout body: She's the perfect choice to kick off FHM 2016.
Aside from continuing our burgeoning love affair with Jennylyn, our January issue also continues our quest to make you a better man, and we start this year by: embracing the new sharing economy and explaining to you how Uber and AirBnB changed the way we travel; paying tribute to Pinoy jesters Jimmy Santos, Long Mejia, and other old school comedians; teaching you the ground rules for sexual conduct; and giving you a crash course on how to become a gentleman version 2.0.
FHM January 2016 will be available in supermarkets, convenience stores, newsstands, and bookstores nationwide starting tomorrow, December 30, 2015.
You can score digital copies in the following days through the FHM app on Apple App Store (http://bit.ly/fhmphapple) and on Google Play (http://bit.ly/FhmPHandroid), Buqo, and the Summit Media Newsstand (http://bit.ly/fhmmagph)!
