We didn't want to make a big deal out of this, but we thought you deserved to know: Today is Jinri Park's last day in the Philippines and then she's off to her home country of Korea to pursue a showbiz career. Although we're certain that this is not the last we'll see of this ultimate Korean darling, she's not leaving for a mere vacation either.
As previously reported, Jinri is set to test the entertainment waters up there in Korea, which, like it or not, is actually good for her career. "I got an offer from Korea to train under a management, so I decided to, you know, let go of things here for a while," she told reporters back in September. "I want to train there because I want to work on my acting skills." She's right, you know, and we all have to let go for now—no matter how hard it's going to be.
And if by some cruel twist of fate this is the last time we get to give Jinri a shout out, then we'll make this one as memorable as possible. Below are the things we will miss the most about Ms. Park...
We will miss the fact that when we first worked together, we knew we had found something really special. We've yet to see your krung-krung side at the time, but all we needed was a glimpse of your doll-like face and over the top prettiness. We told a lot of our friends about you, Jinri. We really did.
We will miss how often you talk about your "Jinjas." Remember when you did an FHM Live Chat session with your fans? Technical difficulties prevented them from hearing your verbal greetings, so you more than made up for it by flashing out fansigns by the second. We thought that was pretty awesome of you.
We will especially miss hearing your perky and animated voice on the radio. And we will never ever forget your on-air T.M.I. stories (“Sometimes I do this when I’m in the bathroom”), even if we try.
We will miss your outstanding cosplay collaborations with Jay Tablante, and we’re pretty bummed that the world is about to miss out on what could have been your version of The King of Fighters’ Mai Shiranui or Tekken’s Xiao Yu. So many chinita cartoon characters to portray, so little time.
