A two-story white mansion located in the town of Urbiztondo in Pangasinan is said to be owned by the controversial driver of Senator Leila de Lima who President Rodrigo Duterte recently claimed was also her lover and drug money bagman.
According to the Inquirer, the neophyte senator’s driver, Ronnie Palisoc Dayan allegedly lives in the said house.
The property is rumored to have been gifted by de Lima to Dayan but the latter’s neighbors neither confirmed nor denied this.
Galarin Barangay Captain Rodolfo Licuanan did say that de Lima stays in Dayan’s house whenever she was in town.
Licuanan also said Dayan’s married children live in an orange bungalow some 100 meters from the white house. However, no one was sure where his wife was.
Meanwhile, provincial police director Senior Supt. Ronald Lee said during a press briefing on Thursday that it was obvious that de Lima funded the construction of the two houses.
“It’s open knowledge in the village who financed the building of that house… He (Dayan) is just a driver and residents say he could not have bought that property by himself,” said the PNP official.
De Lima for her part denied to further comment on the issue after giving a statement on Thursday where she labeled President Duterte’s remarks as an “abuse of power.”
