Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has apologized following his opinion piece with the Inquirer where he apparently labeled those opposing former president Ferdinand Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani as “temperamental brats.”

In a post on his Facebook page on Monday, the former TV news anchor clarified his stance and issued the apology.

Andanar’s statement comes after Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III urged the Communications Secretary to "review his history," in a recent Inquirer report.

“This is a very emotional issue but they are not brats," Pimentel was quoted as saying. "Actually a lot of protesters are coming from the poorer segments of society...These are actually principled positions, principled stand.”

Meanwhile, a quick scan on Twitter feeds shows that Andanar also got a lot of negative feedback, mostly focusing on his “brats” remark prior to his apology.
