Okay, so we all went bonkers when we saw this jaw-dropping poster of volleyball cutie pie Michele Gumabao at TOBY'S press conference at the SM Aura Convention Center last Wednesday, September 18. We were like, "O-M-G, Michele Gumabao could totally do FHM!"
Michele, it turns out, is one of TOBY'S three new athlete endorsers for its 35th anniversary celebration (she is joined by "Big Game" James Yap and Azkalz star Neil Etheridge). With the intention of persuading her to do a photo shoot similar to the one above, we grabbed this opportunity to chat up the three-time UAAP Women's Volleyball Champion. Bringing something like this up, however, ain't as simple as it sounds. But don't worry, we got this.
We got this.
So how did FHM pop the question? Scroll down to find out.
Congratulations, Michele. You're now officially a celebrity endorser!
Actually I agreed to endorse Toby’s because of the brand. Ever since I was a kid I’ve been going there. Even until now, I buy all my sport apparels from them. Ang daming pwedeng pagpilian, there’s always something new. I love being a part of their family because all their advocacies are in line with mine. They promote health, and they’re very accommodating.
How is it like to be labeled as one of the faces of women's volleyball?
I’m very honored to be a part of this batch na nag-contribute to whatever volleyball is today, but I wouldn’t say na kami lang ang nag-angat. Ang daming teams na part ng UAAP and sila naman talaga ang nag-push. I’m very happy that all of these will continue even though I already graduated. I’m not really the star of the La Salle team; I’m just one of the most talkative or the noisiest, ha ha! But in terms of skills, I have teammates who’ve been showing a lot of promise, so I’m very confident for them this coming season.
