The burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani has been legally settled by the Supreme Court (SC), which voted 9-5 in favor of the matter yesterday.

Several politicians and personalities alike have already voiced out their opposition to the high court's ruling.

In reply to this, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said that it was time to "let go" and "move on" from the issue in order to start a time of healing for the nation.

Senator Manny Pacquiao, Inquirer reports, echoed Marcos' sentiments in accordance with the Constitution.

"Intindihin natin yung Constitution. Kung Constitution ang pagbabasehan natin, once na ikaw ay naging presidente at elected ka, you have the right. Kung baga qualif(ied) ka na ilibing sa Libingan ng mga Bayani."

Meanwhile, here are some influential individuals that at one point had similar sentiments:

Sen. Panfilo Lacson

Presidential Spokesperson and Secretary Ernesto Abella

Davao City Representative Karlo Nograles

Kabayan party-list Rep. Harry Roque

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada

"We are all Christians. We have to move on. Let's devote more time on the problems of the country. Move on. Let go anything of the past. We all must respect the dead... Hindi na dapat siguro pag-awayan yan."

Former sen. Francisco Tatad
