On Monday, August 15, Senator Manny Pacquiao once again invoked the name of God when he weighed in on the issue of the burial of the late dictator President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

A Philippine Daily Inquirer report quoted Pacquiao as saying, "Kahit gaano kasama ang isang tao, ang pinakaimportante diyan magkaroon tayo ng forgiveness. Let our good Lord to (sic) judge everything siguro."

He went on to say, "Huwag tayong magalit kung ano man ang nagawa niya. Kailangan may forgiveness tayo kasi pag wala tayong forgiveness, [kung] wala tayong pagpapatawad sa puso natin hindi tayo maka-move on."

GMA News Online report then noted that when Pacquiao was asked about Marcos' involvement in the crimes committed by his administration during the Martial Law period, he quipped, "Kinokonsidera naman natin iyon pero saan ang mas nauna, pagka-elect niya as president o martial law? O 'di ba? Mas nauna pagka-elect niya as president."

Pacquiao added, "It's not a big deal na hindi natin siya ano... Kung baga pag-usapan iyong big deal yung accomplishments niya, iyong pagiging presidente niya. Nahalal naman siya ng tao, pinili naman siya ng tao."
