President Rodrigo Duterte began his term as the country’s head of state with an “excellent” trust rating from Filipinos, as per the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted in June.

Duterte’s overall SWS rating was pegged at 79 percent, BusinessWorld reported.

His net rating was scored after 84 percent of the respondent signified "much trust" in the President versus the five percent that said they had "little trust" in him. Eleven percent of the respondents meanwhile were undecided at the time the survey was launched.

Duterte’s 79 percent trust rating is much higher than his pre-elections rating of 26 percent in May, which is, according to SWS's classification of net trust ratings, only considered as a “moderate” grade. Net trust rating of 70 and up is considered excellent.

The survey, which has a ±3 percent margin of error for national ratings, was conducted on June 24 to 27 with a total of 1,200 respondents from all over the country.
