If you haven't heard yet, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted its third annual metrowide earthquake drill along with our local governments today.

The shake drill was scheduled at 4 p.m. sharp and reintroduced the duck, cover, and hold safety maneuver to the public. There were also simulations of emergency situations, complete with temporary power outages and stoppage of all traffic including trains and mass transport systems.

The shake drill will be held for four days from July 14 to 17 in an effort to introduce various scenarios that will prepare the public during the event of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hitting Metro Manila.

Aside from Metro Manila, the MMDA has urged neighboring areas including Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna to participate. MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim also has a message to the public prior to the drill.

On social media, the activity is known as the #MMShakeDrill which has already garnered various reactions. Let’s check them out:

Oh right, it’s Friday payday!

Time to lose some pounds, dude

Imagine if you’re going up

Not sure about the shake shake fries but we heard from our pals from Spot.ph that the twister fries are back

Better participate instead of playing Dota

Meanwhile, someone got triggered

Others were also not pleased

Well, at least we got this one feeling otherwise

And of course, here’s your usual hugot
