With the parties from the holiday season leaving you shaken and dizzy, we know that you're not yet fully functioning.
Fortunately, we have the perfect bit of news sure to wake you up: The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming to the Philippines, and they're coming very, very soon.
How soon? As in next month, buddy.
The legendary rock band featuring Anthony Kiedis, Flea, and company will be flying over for the 7107 International Music Festival, which is probably the festival that will start and end all festivals this 2014. The two-day music-fest, happening on February 22 to 23, 2014 at the Global Gateway Logistics City (near Clark Base in Pampanga), is set to be the premier concert destination of the year's younger days.
While the Chili Peppers are the biggest names in the roster, and the biggest draw for both young and old, the festival is not short on massive international favorites.
Here's a short list: Empire Of The Sun, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Galaxy Asteroid Tour, and Natives.
Not only that, these foreign performers will also be joined by the best in the local music scene, including
Up Dharma Down, Yolanda Moon, Pulso, Radioactive Sago Project, and a lot more.
In short, if you love music, this is a festival that you won't be able to forgive yourself for missing. And you better get those passes now!
As of December 12, 2013, a limited quantity of pre-sale passes has been released for purchase on the festival’s official website, www.7107imf.com. Fans will be able to purchase two-day general admission and VIP admission passes for early-bird prices.
Other highlights of the two-day event include art installations, food and liquor vendors, and
complimentary shuttle service with participating local hotels. Additionally, 7107 IMF will donate a portion of the event proceeds to help rebuild, rehabilitate, and fund relief projects for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Man, February can't come soon enough, can it? To tide you over, below are some of the songs that we want to hear from the festival headliners:
1) RHCP's "Around The World"
We know, we know. ANY song by RHCP is a boatload of awesome, but we just want to sing along to that "deng deng dong dong deng deng dong dong deng" part of this one.
2) This remix of Empire Of The Sun's "We Are The People"
The Australian duo's first two albums weren't short on masterful tunes perfect for partying. Their fancy costumes make for an even trippier time! We probably won't hear those pumped-up remixes but we hope it gets as wild as the video above.
3) Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's "Face Down"
The band came at the tail end of our emo phase back in 2006. Now, we'd like to relive those moments, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, grow our emo bangs back in time for the concert and sing "Do you feel like a man, when you push her around?!" with all our heart.
In the coming weeks, we'll delve further into the acts performing at the festival and give you a more in-depth look. Stay tuned, music lovers!
