The start of every month is a bittersweet time for FHM—as we say hello to a new muse, we also bid goodbye to the previous one.
June stunner Rachel Anne Daquis didn't waste her second coming; her dual covers revealed another side of her beyond the sport of volleyball.
This month, we have a first-time Cover Girl in our midst: Rhian Ramos.
What better place to hold our much-awaited rendezvous than in a secluded French countryside—only the third FHM cover shoot held outside the country, and the first in Europe. Revered lensman Mark Nicdao just let Rhian go au naturel.
Suddenly, all those Instagram hits come flashing back. Especially this one she posted in March, which emphasized an oft-criticized body part of hers and has already spurred more than 25,000 likes and a thousand comments as of this writing.
Apparently, there's an interesting story behind her internet-breaking behind.
“A lot of people were making fun of my [flat] butt. For the longest time almost everybody was telling me: 'Do some squats, go exercise!' I hadn’t done a single squat in a year—that was what drove me to post that photo where my butt was hanging out. I was like, ‘TAKE THAT!’”
“But it backfired because the reaction was apparently: They think I do have a butt. It’s annoying! It’s confusing! Because that’s not how I intended it. It looked like I was the one who gave in, that, ‘hey look she took our advice and did, like, a gazillion squats.’”
Instead of taking it negatively, Rhian looked at it in a different light.
“I had a kind of epiphany after those reactions: 'You know what? It really doesn’t matter what anyone’s opinion of your body is. It’s really up to you what you want to look like and whatever that is, it's okay,'” she shares.
FHM ended up reaping the benefits of her newfound confidence, as those IG snaps practically brought her into our pages. We have waited long enough, and that photo told us that Rhian was finally ready to meet up.
A slew of stories complementing Rhian's rapture banners this month's issue; chatting with local Mr. Robot Paul Biteng and Gilas Pilipinas coach Tab Baldwin, and a new and improved erotica section ala-Ladies' Confessions.
