Holy shiznit, Robert De Niro is here in Manila!

The Academy award-winning actor, who became a Hollywood legend for his work in Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, The Godfather Part 2, and countless other classic movies (Meet The Parents/Fockers!) is in town to help promote the arrival of the internationally acclaimed Nobu Hotel in the Philippines. Does this mean Bobby's going to visit here often? Yay!

Inspired by the world-renowned Japanese culinary genius Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and championed by De Niro (whom the chef refers to as "The Bob") and Hollywood producer Meir Teper, the 321-room hotel promises to deliver a thrilling, celebrity-inspired experience fused with utmost quality to the visitors of City of Dreams Manila, a planned integrated casino resort in Pasay set to launch in the near future.

Pareng Robert, as a core principal of the group, co-funded and provided creative direction for all the Nobu restaurants. He will also provide creative leadership and insights in the future development of Nobu hotels all around the globe.

"I spend a lot of time at restaurants, and I figured if I could be part of one that's really good, that'd be great," shares De Niro. "Around 25 years ago, I was having dinner with Chef Matsuhisa in his restaurant in Los Angeles and I said if you ever want to open a restaurant in New York, just let me know. I knew that it would be a big success in New York. We had no idea we'd get to where we are, but that's just proof of how great Nobu's food is. Everything that he does is so terrific, so I'm not surprised."

The hotel will be the ideal destination to experience the unique cuisine of celebrated Chef Nobu. Customers are bound to enjoy his style of fusion artistry, including world-renowned signature dishes and spectacular sushi. As fellow Hollywood icon Robin Williams attests to: "Nobu is the one place I eat in every time I'm in New York." Here's to hoping Manila achieves the same feat!

But here's the awesome part: The veteran actor confirmed that he'll be back in town when Nobu Hotel officially opens its doors to the public later this year! Will you bring your famous friends next time, sir? Sama mo si Pacino!

On behalf of all Filipinos, Mr. De Niro and company, congratulations!
