You can get more details about the launch here, but there's more good news: It looks like the Academy Award-winning actor is going to be here in the Philippines a lot more in the future. Mr. De Niro shared that he's not just lending his name to the hotel, but is personally involved in it.
"As I get older, I'll probably earn less as an actor," revealed the 71-year-old New York native during the press conference. "I'm at a certain age and I'll take advantage of whatever comes my way."
Regarding his showbiz career, FHM, along with other members of the press asked if the acting royalty, who gained popularity from movies like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, has plans to shoot a film in the Philippines.
With a smile on his face, De Niro answered in the affirmative.
"I would stay here and film a movie in the Philippines," he said. "It’s just getting the right project whatever that may be. But of course, absolutely."

Upon hearing this, event host Iza Calzado was quick to ask if she could audition for a role.
"Mr. De Niro, if that happens, can I audition for a role? I'm actually a working actress in the Philippines. I did this just for you," a beaming Iza said, which evoked laughter from audience.
"Yes you can!" answered Tito Bobby.
The iconic actor also revealed that he's excited to try Filipino cuisine before he leaves the country.
"I really want to taste the food of the country that I’m in. There's nothing more pleasurable than trying the food of the country you're in," enthused De Niro, a noted food-lover who also co-owns a handful of restaurants.
Here's hoping we see him at our next visit to favorite kwek-kwek stand!
