This holiday season, Yahoo is encouraging Filipinos to do random acts of good deeds, courtesy of their new Yahoo! Ripple of Kindness microsite.

The Yahoo! Ripple of Kindness is exactly what it sounds – a microsite that features a virtual ripple of kindness for every individual, made bigger for every deed you share online.

It encourages people to do simple acts of kindness on a regular basis and update their corresponding status. This unique social media experience uses the vast viral power of the internet to encourage year-end acts of generosity.

Members can share their updates on social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo! Updates, where friends can see your ripple of kindness grow as it inspires them to do the same.

If you have recently donated clothes and provided food for the less fortunate, go ahead and post it online. It actually makes sense – sometimes all it takes for us to lend a hand is a little recognition from our friends.

And what better way to launch the campaign than to have 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida and the Dynamic Teen Company lead this movement. Efren and the team will be posting their ongoing deeds to the Yahoo! Ripple of Kindness microsite for everyone to see.

"I have a mission to make small but significant changes in the lives of others,” says Efren. "You do not need a celebrity status or have a position in the congress to touch the lives of others and this campaign shares this sentiment.”

So, how about seeing really big ripples come Christmas time, yes? To start spreading the kindness online, log on to ph.yahoo.kindness.com.
