Your two days of reprieve from the 9-to-5 grind is here. Loosen that tie, toss those leather kicks to where you won't see them ('til Monday, that is), and go out and have some good old F-U-N.

Here are the top five things you can do to squeeze the life out of your weekend:

Go watch G.I. Joe. Critics will be quick to point out how this movie is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on our need for 80s nostalgia. But it's got all our favorite real American heroes and those relentless Cobra terrorists. To tell the truth, that's all a fan really wants to see. But the fun doesn't stop there—Rachel Nichols makes for a very appealing Scarlett. While you're at it, may we entice you to a G.I. Joe shirt? All you've got to do is answer a few questions.

New Wave Night. Yet another way to feed our need for all things 80s. It's New Wave night this Saturday at Mag:Net Katipunan. From Depeche Mode to Tears for Fears, New Wave Night brings you all the music that we just can't get enough of!

Manila Design Week. Maybe you've tried your hand at Photoshop a couple of times. Maybe you've even dared to learn Illustrator by yourself. If you want to see the best that our country can offer in terms of graphic design and modern art, thenyou simply can't miss Manila Design Week. It kicks off this Saturday, 8 August at 4pm with Team Manila's Public Art Project at Bonifacio High Street. Fifty artists and their environmentally-centered theme works will be featured in an urban art exhibit.

Ateneo vs. La Salle. It's a double payday for scalpers as the Blue Eagles and the Green Archers clash for the first time in Season 72. Their much awaited meeting happens this Sunday, 9 August at 4pm.

Metro Comic-con 2009. Let that inner geek out at the Metro Comic-con 2009 on 8 and 9 August at the SM Megatrade Halls 1 and 2. Videogames, G.I. Joe, Pinoy comics, and perhaps a sighting of Alodia. You don't have to come in costume but if you do, walang basagan ng trip!
