The Supreme Court has finally released the much-awaited list of passers for the 2016 bar examinations, and everything is looking good for the takers.

First of all, 3,747 of the 6,344 examinees, or 59.06 percent, passed the test, making it the highest passing rate recorded in over a decade.

It’s also a great day for women after eight female examinees, including the top four takers, made it to the Bar’s top ten.

And for the first time ever, all the top 10 passers come from provincial law schools. Topnotcher Karen Mae Calam herself, who scored 89.05 percent, hails from the University of San Carlos in Cebu.

The Top 10:

1) Karen Mae Calam, University of San Carlos (89.05 percent)
2) Alanna Gayle Ashley Khio, Silliman University (88.95 percent)
3) Fiona Cristy Lao, University of San Carlos (88.80 percent)
3) Athalia Liong, Andres Bonifacio College (88.80 percent)
4) Allana Mae Babayen-On, University of San Agustin (88.75 percent)
5) Justin Ryan Morilla, Ateneo de Davao University (88.40 percent)

6) Mark Dave Camarao, Northwestern University (88.10 percent)
7) Anne Margaret Momongan, University of San Carlos (87.80 percent)
8) Jefferson Gomez, University of San Carlos (87.70 percent)
9) Nia Rachelle Gonzales, University of Batangas (87.50 percent)
9) Marie Chielo Ybio, Silliman University (87.50 percent)
10) Andrew Stephen Liu, Silliman University (87.45 percent)

Their oath-taking ceremony is currently scheduled on May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
