Professional photographer Albert Pocej dream project literally came to him in a dream.

"This series was my personal challenge to capture the moment of women reaching the highest point of physical pleasure," he writes on boredpanda.com. "I dreamed about it. I simply woke up and I knew I just had to do it. So I tried to explore the female orgasm through a photography experiment."

The Norway-based Pocej said he found it quite difficult to convince women to participate in the project. "The answers I got were mostly two kinds: 'I don’t have enough courage', and just the silence, which is also pretty obvious as an answer."

In the end, 15 women of varying ages gave Pocej and his experiment the thumbs up.

Before actual shooting started, Pocej clarified to his models that they couldn't act their way through the process. Some of the ladies were relaxed having the photographer around to capture the moment. For others, Pocej used time lapse mode to put them at ease and not be conscious of the camera.

"I didn't want this project to be a cliché, I didn’t want any acting—just the real feeling as it is," he says. "Every human being is different, so are their orgasms. I wasn’t trying to make it any better as it is in life. I wanted to make those looking at these pictures to think. And clichés don’t make people think.”

The results? Stunning. See for yourself:
