1 The upper’s a Monocoque
That’s French for single shell, meaning that the multi-layered, multi-textured upper supports all the weight the shoe is carrying. It’s a construction technique that basically eliminates bulky foundations, and for a shoe that means less foam but still ample or even better support.

2. It’s aerodynamic
The upper’s increased strength comes from an enlarged asymmetrical Sprintframe. The new Sprintframe allows maximum motion control. It also makes the shoe more aerodynamic, which enabled our overweight frame to glide through the court. Not only are you lugging your shoes around, you’re also scientifically moving with air with it. Yes, wow.

3 There’s a web
The Sprintframe technology also includes a midsole with more volume for a more supportive base and a new aerodynamic and thinner three-layer Sprintweb The 0.7-mm TPU (or the super elastic thermoplastic polyurethane) of the Sprintweb is seamlessly fused to a nylon textile base. The snug fit of this tighter web layout made it easier and ultimately effortless to move the shoe in different directions—again, you’re not dragging it around, it moves with you. Its articulated eyestay (the part around the shoelaces) also helps dictate where and how the shoe will contort.

4 It’s breathable
Yes, like a feminine napkin. No, you won’t get bloody. The Crazy Light 2’s midsole has micro holes (like a house screen door) to improved ventilation and enhance breathability. The midfoot is the area where your foot sweats the most—and presumably stinks the most. We felt the effect of that innovation the most while running around chasing our opponents and found that it also eliminated the usual kulob feel there is with rubber shoes. A 4-mm KPU foam also provides lightweight comfort around the collar while minimizing heat buildup on your ankles (chaffing, anyone?).

5 It’s got every detail covered
There’s the lightweight rubber toe bumper with a raised, high-abrasion rubber material to battle wear and tear on indoor or outdoor courts.  It ensures that the Crazy Light 2 won’t tear apart at the toe area, which is the usual first worn-out sign (which also warrants the pang-asar, “Nagsasalita na sapatos mo, palitan mo na raw siya”).  Adidas didn’t also use that much adhesive on these kicks, instead opting with stitches to save weight and adding extra material.

6 It sticks to the court
You know that baller trick where you rub the outer sole of your shoe on a puddle of Coke to ensure that you won’t slip on the court? Well, you won’t have to do that with the Crazy Light 2. This baby sticks to the Earth. The traction pattern (composed of a high-traction rubber compound made specially for this shoe) offers a multilevel cross-section that increases surface area and limits dust build-up. The layout of the traction pattern also echoes out from the pivot point, allowing for traction in multiple directions while longitudinal grooves in the forefoot and heel help the tooling provide a banking benefit during extreme v-cuts. In simpler terms, you can do all sorts of movements on the court without falling face or groin first.

7 It won’t twist your ankles
Also, the asymmetrical midsole layout aligns with internal “I” shaped beams. This angled geometry controls the foot from severe inversion to limit ankle rollover (read: no tapilok).

8 It’s damn pretty

9 It’s smart
The Crazy Light 2 also features a micoach speed_cell capability (you slip it just right above the outersole), helping players measure, view, and share their stats. The micoach technology includes an advanced accelerometer that captures 360-degree movement and measures performance metrics every time you’re active, which you can then brag about by sharing your stats on Facebook and Twitter after you’ve wirelessly sync your micoach to your smartphone.  Now, isn’t that nifty?
