1. MULTI- PURPOSE FACIAL TREATMENT
What you’ll need: Mix well: 1 tsp. honey, 1 tbsp. coconut oil, 1 tsp. lemon juice. Apply
for at least 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
What it does: Moisturize dry skin, exfoliate dull skin, prevent and treat acne.
Why it works: Honey is a natural humectant, or a substance that can absorb moisture in the atmosphere, thus hydrating the skin. The Alpha Hydroxy Acid (or AHA, also known as Glycolic Acid) in honey is also a gentle exfoliant. Fruits with AHA (like lemons, strawberries, and grapes)
are known to effectively dissolve dead skin cells and lighten facial discolorations like acne marks. Coconut oil, meanwhile, contains Capric Acid and Lauric Acid, antimicrobial agents that can prevent acne. Coconut oil is also a rich source of Vitamin E, which helps oil glands to
function properly and also clears blocked pores.
AND WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS…
Next to karaoke-singing neighbors, there’s nothing more annoying than blackheads—ah, our pristine faces muddled by minuscule speckles of black. Lemon juice is also an eff ective treatment for blackheads. Using a cotton swab, apply lemon juice directly on the face twice or three times daily. The AHA in the lemon juice will clear the blackheads.
