So which one should you choose? Simple, for casual days that won’t require vigorous activity, the Dep Shaping Molding Gel should be enough. But for more active days, we suggest you try out the latter ones.

2) Preparing your hair
Here's the thing: you need to shampoo your hair properly. Not only is it good hygiene, it also makes hair more manageable to style. Remember, gel works much, much better, and stays more effective for a longer time if you apply it to clean hair.

Also, no amount of gel will be able to cover the smell of sweaty, smelly hair, thus making you lose out on valuable pogi points.

3) Going for the wet look
If you’re targeting a slick, cool look for your mop top, after showering, don’t dry your hair. Instead, use a towel to absorb excess water, then proceed to have it dried by an electric fan.

After you’ve aired out excess moisture (don’t dry it too much though), then you apply some hair gel. Applying hair gel on damp hair gives it a smooth, shiny character.

4) The fresh, dry look
Conversely, you can opt to go for a less shiny look as well. To achieve this, simple use a hair dryer while combing your hair to make sure that every strand gets dried.

Combing your hair while blow drying it should also prevent the strands from getting tangled, which makes the hair harder to shape and style.

Once it’s dry, proceed to shape it in whatever manner you want. Dry hair is easier to shape than damp hair, so you’re free to sculpt your crowning glory as you desire. Just don’t make it too spiky, we always say!

5) The waiting game
Once you’ve gelled your hair up in the style you want, do wait for the gel to completely set in and dry a little. If you don’t, a little gust of wind outside should be enough to ruin your hair which you’ve put much time into styling.
