‘Honey, I never knew you’re good at…’
Skills are cool, you think they’re just good for one thing only to later find out that it’s a big help for something else. Surprise the missus by learning a new skill, and surprise yourself with how much fun you’re having! And in these harsh times, it may actually save you when retrenchment comes.
Must try
There are tons of videos, how-to articles and book that will teach you how to do bonsai, tune the dust-collector that is the piano, make a shelf, fillet a fish. Yeah, it sounds dull but once, you get the hang out of it, it’ll become almost like a new obsession.
Pain
In every skill, the first to go are considered sacrificial and with a lot of practice comes expertise. This only means a lot of wasted fish, tortured plants, and probably a damaged palm.
Gain
These two skills practice your hands a lot, that will give you an ultimate edge in the petting arena. Not to mention using tiny trees and tasty food as good bait for your ladylove.
