Did you have a hard time communicating with people when you first left Japan?
When I first got to Canada, I didn’t understand English much. I didn’t understand most of the questions people asked me.

Just in case you make it big here in the Philippines, you think you could learn a bit of Tagalog?
I think so. Tagalog and Spanish are kind of similar, and I find Spanish relatively easy to learn. I don’t think I’ll have a hard time studying other languages.

Finish this sentence: I get the most compliments on…
My shoulders. People also love my teeth, though I had it fixed when I was little.

What type of guys do you usually go for?
I like the funny ones. I’m beginning to appreciate Western guys because I’m now used to Western culture. I’m not saying I don’t like Japanese guys—I’ve had Japanese boyfriends in the past—but they’re a bit too disciplined and traditional for my liking.

But that’s what makes them weird and awesome.
I think people assume we’re very conservative. Japanese people nowadays love Western culture, so they like to be more out there. Deep inside, we’re all still very traditional.

What are girls in Japan known for?
Uhm, we’re super kind. Ha ha! We’re very loyal with guys. We don’t mind doing everything for our man–we make them food, take care of them, and all that.
