Dealing with the mysteries of the other sex has kept men preoccupied for as long as we can remember. This is probably the reason why “boyish” girls always have this strange appeal towards men, hence the tropes of best bros falling in love with the only girl in your barkada and all the shinota-mo-bestpren-mo shenanigans. Simply, guys like girls who “get” us because we actually “get” them!
In comes Fhaye Lorenzo, gamer-geek, Tanduay model, certified hottie, and the girl friend (the space in between the words is infinite) all guys would want to have in their barkada. Be careful asking her out to gaming dates though, pawning noobs is what she lives for.
Have you always been a gamer?
Sobrang addict ko sa Ragnarok dati. I would play 12 hours straight just leveling up my character and hanging out with my guild when I was just a kid. Good times!
Woah! You went hard on that game didn’t you?
Syempre! I loved haggling and trading items with players. I made a lot of friends at our local computer shop. I still know some of them up to now.
Those guys will probably be excited to see your photos!
Ha ha! The ones that recognize me will probably be surprised and go, “Uy si Aphrodite! Nag-FHM na pala!”
It was my IGN (in-game name) back then for my knight in Ragnarok. It means, “Goddess of Love and Beauty.”
It seems like you’re owning up to your name looking at the photos in your spread now. We bet the guys at computer shops are fawning over you as we speak.
If they actually recognize me that is! I looked like such a boy back then, ha ha!
Still, being a gamer is a plus in most guys’ books!
Yeah! When guys find out that I’m a gamer they always say na ang cool ko raw! Ha ha! I think mas nakakasundo nila ako compared to other girls that don’t like the stuff they’re into.
You seem nice face-to-face, but what’s your in-game persona like? TT (trash talk) on na ba?
Ha ha! Minsan. Pero hindi madalas! I usually help newbies whenever I can. As long as they’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to them. I guess that applies to real life as well.
There are probably not-so-nice people outside of gaming too, right?
I have a few bashers on my page that comment that I’m just playing games to get guys’ attention but that’s completely not true! I’ve loved gaming ever since I was little and that won’t change no matter what they say about me.
Do they get a taste of your infamous trash talking skills?
I just ignore them. They’re probably just insecure over the fact that some girls could own them at their own fave games.
We have to ask, being a gamer and being a model are occupations that are worlds apart. How did you get into the latter?
I’ve always wanted to be a model, particularly a model for FHM. I’ve been a fan ever since so it was such a great opportunity to have this shoot with you guys. A dream come true!
That’s awesome! Who’s your favorite FHM cover?
If I had to choose, it would probably be Ellen Adarna. All of her covers are so sexy, and as a person I just love her devil-may-care attitude. She’s amazing!
So who were you channeling this shoot? Aphrodite or Ellen?
I think a little bit of both, ha ha! Being a gamer helped me a lot in life and in modeling. It taught me to try things outside of my comfort zone and work hard for the things I want. You’ll never gain any experience if you stop grinding!
